Chris Romero is a retired 2nd generation professional wrestler who is better known as Chris Youngblood.

Rise to Fame

Chris Romero is the son of Ricky Romero. He began his pro-wrestling training at the age of 13 and made his professional debut as Chris Youngblood in 1985. He started teaming with brother Mark in 1986 upon their older brother Jay's death.

Chris and Mark had success in the World Class Championship Wrestling, World Wrestling Council and also as The Tribal Nation in the Global Wrestling Federation and the United States Wrestling Association. In the USWA, Chris turned heel and wrestled for manager Skandor Akbar's "Devastation Inc." as Pronto, a mockery of his American Indian heritage. During this time Chris had a feud with a young up and coming Stone Cold Steve Austin.

Semi-Retirement

Chris has done work in numerous independent promotions across the State of Texas including the East Texas based NWA Southwest where Chris was always in Top Contention for The NWA Texas Heavyweight Championship. During this time he also teamed up with his nephew "Radical" Ricky Romero III against numerous teams including The Lone Star Connection. In 2005 Chris began booking shows and wrestling part-time for Panhandle Wrestling Federation, later renamed West Texas Wrestling Legends, an independent promotion exclusive to Amarillo, TX.

In 2006, World Wrestling Entertainment showed interest in hiring Chris as a Producer for training and scouting talent.

On September 9, 2006 a pre-taped promo aired before a live audience in Amarillo, Texas that saw TNA's own Lance Hoyt challenge Romero to a West Texas Death Match with Romero's WTWL Brass Knuckles Title being on the line. The stipulation being that if Hoyt is victorious WTWL's Brass Knuckles Title be renamed The WTWL Hardcore Title.

November 25, 2006 at WTWL's Remember November event, Chris Romero was a special guest referee in the night's Main Event between his nephew "Radical" Ricky Romero III and Widow Maker. The match ended in no contest when Widow Maker and WTWL Champion Thunder and Angel of Death attacked The Romero's. Then the locker room emptied out and made the save.

At WTWL's Season's Beatings II event on December 9, 2006, Chris Romero teaming with his nephew "Radical" Ricky Romero III and "Hobo" Hank defeated the team of Angel of Death, Widow Maker and The WTWL Champion Thunder in a Six Man Tag Team match.

On January 13, 2007 at WTWL's Wrestlution event, Chris Romero was in his brother Mark's corner in the nights Main Event where Mark Romero made a rare in-ring appearance using the famous Youngblood name. Mark defeated WTWL Champion Thunder to gain the title. Afterwards Chris and WTWL's Superstars "Hobo" Hank, Mike DiBiase, Dice Murdock and nephew "Radical" Ricky Romero III celebrated with the new champion.

Retirement

In April of 2007, West Texas Wrestling Legends changed its name once again to Professional Wrestling Federation and opened up The PWF Wrestleplex, which holds weekly events every Saturday Night. The Wrestleplex is also home to Romero's Academy of Wrestling.

On April 28th in front of a sold-out crowd, an emotional Chris Romero announced his retirement from in-ring wrestling and vacated his PWF Brass Knuckles Championship. The vacated title was put up for grabs later on in the evening in a Triple Threat Match that saw Chuey Martinez defeat PWF Texas Panhandle Champion CoCo "The Latin Sensation" and Tejano Kid to capture the vacated title for the first time. Chris' last match was the night before on April 27th when he teamed up with CoCo in a tag team match against Tejano Kid and Chuey Martinez in The 2007 Tag Team Memorial Cup Tournament for Chris' brother, the late, great Jay Youngblood.

Chris still runs R.A.W (Romero's Academy of Wrestling) and is currently taking bookings from other feds and bringing his trainies and loyal wrestlers with him after a fallout with the PWF.
