Morgans Hotel
Originally created by Steve Rubell and Ian Schrager after Studio 54 in 1984, Morgans Hotel Group developed its first property, Morgans on Madison Avenue in New York City. The hotel revolutionized the hospitality industry with the introduction of the boutique hotel concept. The hotel is designed by the renowned French designer Andree Putman.

Inside the room, the walls are painted with a mixture of four muted tones, producing an effect like that of an "Impressionist wall painting" — an unusual backdrop for the specially commissioned black and white photographs by Robert Mapplethorpe.
