Mohamed Kallon (born October 6, 1979 in Kenema, Sierra Leone) is a professional footballer, currently the captain for the Leone Stars, Sierra Leone national football team, and the most famous Sierra Leonean footballer.

Playing career

Kallon started his career with local club, Old Edwardians in 1995 as a 15 year old. He has played for FC Lugano, Internazionale, Genoa 1893, Reggina Calcio among others.

Kallon tested positive for the banned substance nandrolone after the Serie A match against Udinese Calcio on 27 September 2003 and was banned from football for eight months.

Whilst on loan to Saudi club Al Ittihad, he helped the team win the AFC Champions League 2005 where he was top scorer in the competition before returning back to AS Monaco.

Kallon spent 10 days on trial at Birmingham city in September 2007 scoring in a friendly against Kidderminster Harriers. However manager Steve Bruce decided not to sign him after it was reported that it may not be possible to obtain a work permit for the player.

Kallon is now heading out to the Saudi Capital again to resurrect his playing carrer.
