Pin and Shield

I'm not sharing anything that has not already been provided publicly. The shield is shown on many websites, even those that are not alpha phi alpha. Skip mason gives a detailed description of the shiled in one of his historical momemts where he contrasts our shield with that of Omega and Sigma and how they are similar (more pointedly that they "borrowed" this from alpha). The term Sphixmen and The Sphinxmen Club are mentioned in the history book and the book is avialable in many college libraries. I also believe the natl office has review this website because I recognize some of text from the article in the newly created alpha website. for example this text "Alpha men have been instrumental in the founding and leadership of the NAACP (WEB Dubois), People's National Party (PNP) Norman Manley, Association for the Study of African American Life and History (ASALH) (Jesse E. Moorland), UNCF (Frederick D. Patterson), and the SCLC (King, Walker and Jemison)." and the part which mentios "the NUL has been led by 6 alpha comes directly from the Alpha Phi Alpha article, and the national office has not complained about copyright infringement to wikipedia.--Ccson 20:49, 26 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I frequent Skip's site and I had read all of the historical moments on there. I am a big history geek so I definitely admire his work. I am also well aware that you can go to most libraries and find our book, still it doesn't make it o.k. that you can. Now I can say for cetain that I haven't see any websites, but this one that talks about what the pearls in the stand for (although AKA does tell what 20 stand for). You don't see Sigma Gamma Rho talking about the ten pearls and two rubies. i guess lately that there has been downpour of info leaking about the frat. I agree that most of these things you can find by reading a book or google, but the pearls in the pin info, I haven't seen, only on here.I appreciate what your during, honestly, I just wanted your thoughts on some things and an email address so that I give you a link that has an abundance of old pics.

The Alpha Phi Alpha article doesn't expose the symbolic nature of the dove, fasces, etc, but any learned person can determine these objects since they weren't created by APA. Plus, once again, national office has review this aticle and included a lot of the conten in their newly created site. Another example is the list of General president, which was first created in the APA article. If the natl office has problem with use of paraphernalia, they would have requested them removed and then sued as they did from producers of Stomp the Yard#Alpha Phi Alpha boycott threat (who are Alphas) if the request for was honored. The sororites may not talk about 20, 10 or 4, but you just did, and how do you know this, because it's public knowledge.--Ccson 21:17, 26 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
