Gameplay
Players will explore a variety of environments and stages, solving puzzles and interacting with the world in search of vast riches, a legendary pirate ship, and the ultimate pursuit of becoming the greatest pirate the world has ever seen. Controller movements allow players to move and open objects, transform items, unlock new pathways and navigate through stages based on a variety of themes including a jungle, ice temple, volcanic caves and more, each with their own sub-areas. Players will rotate handles, turn keys to open doors, play a piccolo etc in order to solve the progressively difficult puzzle stages and collect Barbaros’ legendary treasures.

"Buy Zack & Wiki" Campaign
Leading up to an official announcement on June 18th, 2007[3], Matt Casamassina, the editor in chief of IGN's Nintendo Channel, and Mark Bozon had been praising the game for its originality and unique gameplay[4]. Although, it was in this announcement that Matt officially stated that the two would make it their obligation to make sure that as many people as possible will buy the game upon its release[5].
Since this, a number of websites, such as GoNintendo have picked up the campaign[6], as well as countless blogs.
Trivia
In a promotional video showcasing some aspects of the game, a Muslim prayer was supposedly heard being chanted in the background of the game's music. This was quickly taken out by Capcom.
