Big Up Entertainment
Big Up Entertainment is a record label that specializes in hip hop music. It was founded by Canadian NHL hockey player Anson Carter to provide an outlet for the youth of the world to be comfortable in their beliefs and dreams and get their voices heard. It was officially launched in March 2005 and aims to become the next big hip hop franchise. The first release from the independent label was Richmond, Virginia natives Main & Merc. Big Up Entertainment hopes to release apparel and movies, in addition to music. Carter told AllHipHop.com that a hockey movie named "Blades" is currently in development and is projected for a February 2006 release.

Main N Merc- The first artists to be signed by Carter to Big Up Entertainment. Hailing from Richmond, Virginia, these two arists released their debut album "Passion N Pain" in 2005 while studying Business Administration at Virginia Commonwealth University.
