The Monster Plantation is a dark ride, opened in 1981, located in the Six Flags Over Georgia theme park in Austell, Georgia. The exterior of the ride looks like a typical antebellum Southern Plantation. Boats proceed through a water-filled track and through the interior, which is filled with humorous animatronic monsters having a picnic. Near the end of the ride, the boats are purposely diverted into "the Marsh", a dark swamp filled with a variety of scary monsters before the boats are delivered back to the outdoor boarding station.

From the park's opening in 1967 until 1980, the same building house The Tales of the Okefenokee, a boat ride inspired by the Uncle Remus stories of Joel Chandler Harris.

Theme Song

The person who wrote the earlier lyrics of the Monster Plantation song wrote them incorrectly. They are as follows:

Join the monsters at the mansion, You're invited!

(In another voice) TO WHAT?

To our picnic!

WHAT KIND?

Monster picnic, but humans are allowed to visit.

Then it repeats.
