Template:Future television series Template:Infobox Television Survivor Survivor 16 is the upcoming sixteenth season of CBS reality television series Survivor. Applications were due on 17 July, 2007. Around August 2007, 800 applicants were selected for an interview by CBS. Out of these 800, about 48 semi-finalists were selected to go to Los Angeles sometime during September 2007. From these semi-finalists, approximately 16 contestants are selected to participate in the show between late October - mid-December 2007. [1]

There has been persistent speculation that Survivor 16 will be an All-Stars season, in which players from previous seasons return to compete a second time. Prominent website Survivor Maps has published recent rumours, supposedly originating from production sources, stating that Survivor 16 will indeed be an All-Stars season, with filming due to begin on October 29 2007.[2] If true, this would be Survivor's second All-Stars season. The first was the eighth season, Survivor: All-Stars, which aired in early 2004.

There are also rumours that this season may be half all stars and half new contestants, or even half all stars from seasons 9-15 and half all stars from seasons 1-7. However, any official information on this season is yet to be confirmed.

Location

Local media in Palau is reporting that Survivor 16 will be filmed in Palau.[3][4] This would be the second time Survivor has filmed in Palau, with the first being 2005's Survivor: Palau. According to Survivor Maps, the filming locations for Survivor 16 will be the same as those used in Survivor: Palau.[2]
