An idiot writes...

"How can al those south park episodes be on there and not be removed? I'm pretty sure thats a copyright violation, I hope they get sued till their B R O K E"

-The South Park creators don't really care.

-It's the publishers and distributors that care.

...maybe the Idiot is a publisher, or distributor ? (but what does that make me publishing and distributing my words...)

My changes

Since my revision was reverted, I thought I would explain my changes. First paragraph; header removed as per style guide. First instance of name in bold as per style guide. users can sign up and upload, watch, rate, review and share videos. - It's a video sharing site then. The 'features' section was just a little sloppy so I edited that without losing any information, and it wasn't large enough to warrant a subsection.

External links formatted as per style guide. 'Similar websites' moved to See also, as per style guide. Marasmusine 23:27, 6 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Gone

looks like they disappeared, checking 0300GMT 01/09/07. Possibly related to hosting the entire new Bond movie (Casino Royale).

Explicit Content

Someone wrote

With regard to explicit sexual content, Dailymotion inexplicably shows up at the top of the following google searches: "share your sex videos," [9] and "share your masturbation videos." [10] However Dailymotion's own terms of service state that such content on their site is prohibited[11]. Screen captures taken June 9, 2007 verify this claim:

I removed that section because Daily Motion previously allowed sexually explicit materials provided the user was registered and claimed to be over 18 but recently changed it.

Isn't that for pornography rather than showing boobs etc

Fair use rationale for Image:Untitled12.jpg

Image:Untitled12.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Explicit Content 2

Daily motion monitors for US IP addresses and will not allow viewing of material marked as mature (this is not limited to nudity) by listing the video as removed. This applies to all US users, be they registered members over the age of 18 or casual surfers. Using a script blocking plug-in or European proxy can get around this.

Changed policy

When and why did they bring in a 'no porn' policy? —Preceding unsigned comment added by StudentSteve (talkcontribs) 10:30, 23 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Added images verifying their deceptive placement on google

Dailymotion shows up up the top of the following google searches: share your sex videos and share your masturbation videos. Yes their terms of service prohibit such content. I've updated the main article to reflect this, but I'm mentioning it here since my past edits have been removed. I've put them back on yet again. But here are links to the images in case another deletion takes place:

Sincerely, cbean

p.s. On the issue of 'no porn,' as far as I can tell they've always banned it, in spite of their apparently deceptive placement at google - as per what I've documented as per my screen captures.

Just a quick note, Porn is alive and well on dailymotion, the sexy channel is full of it. Note: if you can't get the sexy channel just when you click on channels it means you are being blocked, for whatever reason. But dailymotion probably has the best range of porn/sexy/nude videos around, better than the dedicated youporn's because they have more users and videos.
