The Conseil scolaire de district du Centre-Sud-Ouest, also known as CSDCSO or Ontario District School Board #58, manages the French-language Public Schools in the central south-western region of Ontario. The area in which this school board operates covers 68,180 km² of Ontario.[1]
The CSDCSO is one of four members of the Association des conseillers(ères) des écoles publique de l'Ontario (ACÉPO).
History
The board was created January 1st, 1998 when the Government of Ontario, under the Ontario Progressive Conservative Party accepted recommendations to create 12 new French School Boards across Ontario.[[[1]|citation]]. This is of historical significance since the Conservativies elimitated 114 other public school boards in that major restructuring of public education in Ontario. As part of that restructuring Ontario went to a per student funding formula [2]. and as a result this school is operating at a deficit each year.
Three new schools are scheduled to open in the next few years, in Richmond Hill, Barrie and Windsor.[2]
