The Sandler Family Supporting Foundation was created by Herbert and Marion Sandler.

In 2000, the Foundation gave $525,000 to the activist organization, ACORN.[1]

In 2006, the Sandlers gave 17,422,751 shares of Golden West Financial stock worth $1.3-billion to the foundation.[2]
