Jason Hernandez (born August 26, 1983 in New York, New York) is an American soccer defender of Puerto Rican descent, who currently plays for C.D. Chivas USA of Major League Soccer.

Hernandez played college soccer at Seton Hall University from 2001 to 2004, and captained the team in his final two seasons. Upon graduating, he was selected by the MetroStars in the first round of the 2005 MLS Supplemental Draft and signed a developmental contract with the team for the 2005 season. After not playing a minute in the club's first 29 league games, he started the last three of the regular season, as well as both in the playoffs. Hernandez was traded to Chivas USA in a trade that allowed the MetroStars to move up to the #1 selection of the 2006 MLS SuperDraft and select Marvell Wynne. Hernandez was picked up by the San Jose Earthquakes in the 2007 MLS Expansion Draft.
