Munir A. Malik(Munir is also spelled Muneer) is a very prominent Pakistani Lawyer.He is the former President of the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) of Pakistan.He was the leader of the legal defense team of Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry when the latter was illegally dismissed by general Pervez Musharraf.

He was arrested after Musharraf declared a state of emergency,as on 25th november 2007 he is in Pakistan Institute Of Medical Sciences,seriously ill and under treatment after a kidney failure.Government has widrawn detension orders in the wake of his deteriorating health.Severe backlash is expected on the denial of acess to medical help to him for several days.

Imran Khan has expressed his grave concerns about his health and has blamed government for his ill health.He has criticized government to deny him of acess to clean drinking water when he was under arrest in Attock jail.He said he would hold government responsable if (god forbid)anything is to happen to Munir A.Malik. Role in reinstatement of Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry

After the suspension and arrest of Iftikhar Chaudhry on 9th of March,Munir Malik was one of the first people to contact him and assure the unconditional support of Lawyers.

On 7th June 2007 he said "The judiciary should play its role as “A-team” of the people of Pakistan unlike its previous role when according to him it had been playing role of “B-team” of the army"[2].

On 10th May 2007 Munir A Malik told was watching TV at 3:00 am at his house situated at Khayaban-e-Mujahid Street in Clifton when he heard bullets being fired that hit the upper portion of his house where his son and other family members were present.Windows of his house were broken and bullets signs were present outside the wall of his house as well as inside the home.

His daughter miracously escaped the firing and his other family members also remained safe.
