This article is about traditional clothing in Japan. In addition to the traditional clothing described below, western-style clothing is commonly worn by both sexes. Japanese clothing is styled to fit the seasons; for instance in autumn people will wear clothes with fall colours and fall patterns. In the spring, bright colours and spring floral patterned Japanese clothing is worn.
