Diskoteka Avariya

Diskoteka Avaria (Template:Lang-ru - Disaster Disco) are a Russian hip-hop, rap group from Ivanovo, Russia. They currently consist of three members: Nikolay Stagoranovich Timofeev (Тимофеев Николай Стагоранович), Aleksey Borisovich Serov (Серов Алексей Борисович) and Aleksey Olegovich Ryzhov (Рыжов Алексей Олегович). The group originally contained four members but the fourth member, Oleg Zhukov (Олег Жуков), died on February 9, 2002 of cancer.

History

The group's roots come from the time when Nikolay Timofeev and Alexey Ryzhov became friends in school. They quickly began to develop ideas for projects in the area of music.

Honors

In 2002 the group received the award for Best Russian Act in MTV's Europe Music Awards of 2002. Diskoteka Avariya have also received the "Golden Gramaphone" (Золотой Граммофон) in 2001, 2002, and 2005.
