Kelly L. Moran

Kelly L. Moran (born 1960) is an American artist, author, designer and builder. She has a degree in Fine Arts from Frostburg State University and continually trains at the Schuler School of Fine Art in Baltimore, Maryland, painting in the 16th Century Dutch Old Masters' style. She continued her education at the George Washington University and the USDA studying, Botany, Horticulture and Landscape Design. Working as a landscape designer in the Washington D.C. metro area landed Moran on Fox 5 News at 5:00 doing gardening segments.

She designed a unique garden bench with open lattice sides, a solid back and roof called a "love Cupboard" based on similar 16th century English covered benches. The Love Cupboard was featured in Country Home Country Gardens magazine,Country Living Magazine,Fine Gardening Magaine, and the Washington Times newspaper and 2007 Cottage Living Magazine.

2001 Moran wrote her first book, Shelley Chintz, Unlocking the Secrets of the Pattern Books ISBN 0-9676925-0-4 and in 2002 Browntrout Publishers produced a calendar using images from her book. The calendar was called "Tea With Kelly" ISBN 0-7631-4335-9

In 2006 Kelly completed building her first dwelling, one she designed and functioned as general contractor, in Cumberland, Maryland called the Stone Cottage. She has her Maryland Builders License.

Moran is currently working on a second book on the benefits of building smaller "cozy" homes.
