Golden State Foods (GSF) was founded in 1947 in the Los Angeles area, as a small meat company providing products to LA area restaurants and hotels. GSF got his break in the 19050's when it teamed up with the fledgling McDonald's Corp.

Since 1967, when Golden State Foods became a primary supplier to McDonald's, the Company has grown into a diversified, global $3 billion corporation.

Chef Gold was launched in 2000 to produce liquid products such as ketchup and mustard and cooked meat products for a variety of customers. In the same year, GSF formed a subsidiary Centralized Leasing Company (CLC) to provide leasing services to itself. In 2002 Signature Services was launched to offer customized services such as store painting, lot striping, power washing and landscaping. With aprtnership with The Arthur Wells Group in St. Louis; GSF formed CFM Logistics to help clients with their freight distribution needs.

McDonald's relationship

Through a joint venture with Taylor Fresh Foods Inc., GSF is also the largest U.S. produce supplier for McDonald's.

Baked goods

GSF entered the baked goods business by forming a joint venture with Bryan, Tex.-based Mid South Bakery. The baked products are distributed to customers in the Southeast.

GSF Today

GSF is one of the biggest full-line service provider to McDonald's, including liquid products, and its third largest beef supplier in the U.S. GSF's Australian group, supplies produce to KFC, Taco Bell, Pizza Hut and Milford. GSF also owns the Egypt group, which provides processing and distribution services to the Middle East.
