Dean Lance Morgan (born 3 October 1983 in Edmonton, England) is a professional football striker, currently playing Southend United on loan from Luton Town.
Morgan started his career with Colchester United, before making the move to Reading. However, he couldn't command a regular place in the first team, so was released in 2005. He then signed a contract with Luton Town, where he currently plays on the left wing.
Despite interest from other teams,[citation needed] Morgan signed a new deal at Luton on 16 February 2007, keeping him at Luton until the summer of 2009.
On 16 November 2007, Morgan signed on loan for Southend United until 5 January 2008,[1] and on 3 January 2008, Leeds United manager Dennis Wise confirmed that Morgan was one of his transfer targets for the January 2008 transfer window.[2] Wise also showed interest in the 06/07 season but failed to bring in the Luton striker. It was believed that Dean Morgan will sign for Leeds United on Monday 7th January as his loan with Southend has expired, Morgan revealed that he is excited at the prospect of playing a "dream club". However on that date Leeds United revealed that the club and player had failed to agree personal terms and the club was withdrawing it's offer.
