Cross Movement Records is an American based Christian hip hop record label that was founded in 1997 by the Christian hip hop group, The Cross Movement.Commonly abbreviated as CMR, Cross Movement Records differs from other Christian rap labels due to their un-mistakable Love and dedication to the Lord and to spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ. CMR artists not only make music for the Lord, but often also commit themselves to teaching and preaching the Gospel for many different events.
In 2005 they made a license agreement and partnership with Reach Records and their artist Lecrae.
With artists representing the south, (Lecrae), the east, (the cross movement, and da' t.r.u.t.h.), and the mid west, (J.R. and Flame), Cross Movement Records dominates the Christian Rap/Hip Hop Minsitry and Industry.
In 2006, CMR stretched out it's reach into the soul/r&b market by developing Issachar Recordings, it's new sub-label. Issachar Records will release albums with musical styles other than hip hop.
CMR's label group (and executives in charge) the Cross Movement is made up of the artists Phanatik, the Tonic, the Ambassador, and T.R.U L.I.F.E. The Ambassador is also the co-pastor of CMR's inner-city church plant- Epiphany Fellowship. [1]
