Benoît is a very common Catholic French male given name, as well as family name. It is sometimes spelled Benoit or, less frequently, Benoist.

Pronounced /bɛn.wæ/, the name is rooted in the French word benit which means blessed. Benoit is also a common surname, often pronounced by English speakers as /bɛn.ɔɪ.ɪt/ or /bɛn.ɔɪt/.
