John Daugherty White reference to naming of Whitesburg is incorrect. White wasn't born until 1849, six years after the post office opened with the name "Whitesburgh."

It's possible it was named for White's uncle, John White, who was Speaker of the House of Representatives at the time the Whitesburgh Post Office was commissioned, but I have no evidence of this. Does anyone else have anythought? Letcherwater (talk) 16:28, 22 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
