The Ofira Air Battle was one of the of the first air battle of the Yom Kippur War. It took place near the Israeli Air Force base in Ofira, Sharm el-Sheikh in South Sinai on October 6, 1973. It involved 160 Israeli Phantoms | sky howk and, according to the IAF pilots, 28 Egyptian MiG-21s, The Egyptian air forces attacked The Israeli base in sinai , the israeli phantom and sky howks fly up to defend the base But the Egyptian mig-21's is shooted down 18 israeli phantoms and sky howks and destroyed the israeli base , and taked many PRISONERS and changed them after the war by some Egyptian soldiers was in israeli cells
