Profile
Calais Campbell is a tall, extremely gifted, pass-rushing defensive end who is one of the nation's top athletes. He is currently the team's second tallest player and was recruited as a tight end/defensive end before settling on the defensive line. He was expected to be an early first round draft pick (Top Ten) in the 2008 NFL Draft, but after running a disappointing 5.03 40-yard dash he is projected to be a late 1st round pick to early 2nd round pick.
High school career
Campbell played his high school football at South High School in Denver, Colorado. Campbell was widely regarded as the nation's top high school defensive player. He chose Miami over other schools such as Colorado State, Nebraska, Louisiana State, Michigan, Oklahoma, and San Diego State.
