Before the Season

Roster Changes

UM strong safety Kenny Phillips and defensive end Calais Campbell made the decision to forego their senior year and declare for the NFL Draft. Phillips is touted by many NFL scouts to be the top safety available, and a potential first round draft pick. Campbell can also potentially be a first round pick, who was one of the top sackers in the country.

In a report by the Miami Herald on December 2, Kirby Freeman, who split time as starting quarterback this season, was informed he will likely not see playing time for his senior season in 2008. The job will likely go to redshirt freshman Robert Marve or 2008 recruit Jacory Harris. [1] Subsequently, Kirby Freeman has transfered to Baylor University. [2]

Freshman Doug Wiggins has decided to transfer to Central Michigan. [3]

Freshman Chris Perry has transfered to Texas Tech University. [4]

Junior DajLeon Farr, previously a five-star recruit out of high school, has transferred to Memphis University. [5]

Daren Daly will transfer.

Demetri Stewart will transfer.

Jerrell Mabry will transfer.
