The Taichung Power Plant is a 2200 megawatt coal fired power plant in Taiwan.[1] Among coal fired power plants, it is the largest emitter of carbon dioxide in the world.[2] The eight units at Taichung have a total estimated coal requirement of around 12 million tonnes of bituminous and 2.5 million tonnes of sub-bituminous coal a year.
