Arcángel & De la Ghetto

Austin Santos, artistically known as Arcangel, and Rafael Castillo, artistically known as De La Ghetto, formed Arcangel & De La Ghetto, a Puerto Rican and Dominican duo that have been active from 2004 to 2007. Both artists were members of Zion's label, Baby Records, until Arcangel left, and found Flow Factory Inc.. Both artists are still friends, and are still active, but in separate ways. Arcangel is the most romantic, lyrical, and charismatic, while De La Ghetto is more versatile he can rap in english and spanish and in addition can sing, has rapid shoot-flow and Arcangel is slower. Arcangel & De La Ghetto alongside Jowell y Randy are considered the future of the reggaeton genre.

Arcangel

Austin Santos, best known as Arcangel, was born in 1985, in the city of New York to Dominican parents with a lot of talent. Living in a normal home Arcangel lives his first years in New York. His mother moves to Puerto Rico to realize her aspiration of singing by joining a musical group of Merengue known as Las Chicas del Can-Canin the early 80s. That is how it starts the career of a kid, with the inspiration of being a star to help his mother reach the dream both of them had, of being famous in the world of Latin music. Mixing different kinds of musical styles and with a clear and straight vision, a Urban poet is born that reflects his history in his lyrics. Tempo is "Arcangel's" big example and inspiration that helps him reach his dreams. With a big effort and without proposing it to himself, Austin meets a young man better known in the world of reggaeton as "De La Ghetto" with the same purpose as him. "Arcangel & De La Ghetto" have made a big impact in the world of reggaeton with huge hits like "Agresivo", "Sorpresa", and "Fanática". They quickly became well known in the world of reggaeton and are one of the best duos that ever existed in the genre. This is the only duo that is well known without releasing their own album. Arcangel first solo album is prepared to be released in March 2008. The name of the album is going to be Arcangel La Maravilla "Diario de un Soñador" .
