Nicole Alexander is popularly known as Hoopz, due to her love of basketball as a fan and a player. She is an American model and actress, best known as the winning contestant in the first season of the VH1 reality show, Flavor of Love, after a 10-episode nationally televised competition. Alexander is set to star in her own DVD series and two movies in 2008.
Biography
Nicole Alexander was born July 12, 1983 in Detroit, Michigan to a Puerto Rican/African American father and American/Puerto Rican Mother and raised in Romulus, Michigan, and graduated from Woodhaven High School in Brownstown, MI, where she was a star basketball player and athlete. Her sixth grade and favorite teacher was Mr.Hamet. Prior to acting, she worked with her uncle demolishing and rebuilding houses.
At the age of 23 she auditioned for Flavor of Love. Alexander eventually won after almost two months of living with other contestants.
She has also appeared on MTV's "Wild 'N Out." She was a guest judge in season 3 during E-40's guest appearance.
As of 2007, Alexander continues to model in calendars, magazines, and for modeling agencies EyeCandy Modeling & Titanium Girlz. She has also appeared in videos such as Will Smith's "Party Starter" & Lil' Keke's "Chunk Up The Deuce", as well as "The Game's" "Wouldn't Get Far" video and Maddi Madd Holla Back. And is the celebrity supporter of the "East Kentucky Miners" a basketball team located in Pikeville Kentucky.
Legal troubles
On June 13 2006, Alexander was arrested at her home in Dearborn, Michigan after a fight with a police officer.[1] The police were responding to a neighbor's noise complaint. Hoopz claims that the officer was the instigator and grabbed her by her neck. Neighbors claim that visitors to Alexander's home are disrespectful and loud, but Alexander alleges that the root-problem is racism toward her mostly black family and friends. Alexander was released on bail June 14 2006.
Flavor of Love
Alexander appeared on the First season of Flavor of Love at age 23. After almost two months of living in "Flav's mansion" along with the show's other contestants, Flav chose her as the winner over Tiffany Pollard ("New York"), the other finalist. As a token of his affection, Flav gave Alexander a set of gold teeth similar to his own. In the series' reunion special, Alexander revealed that she and Flav were no longer a couple.
