Abbotswood is a suburb of Yate, in South Gloucestershire, England. It has a small shopping centre and a large number of council flat blocks as well as a youth club and church. Located in the south of Yate, the area has a Junior and Infant School

During the 1970’s the public house called the 002 (re-named the Abbotswood Inn) which is situated in the Abbotswood shopping centre, was a hotbed off and in fact the main centre of the wife swapping culture that had taken over the town. This and the “Radburn” style of building which the majority of the town had been constructed in at this time were the major factors in the rise of failed marriages which led to the town having the highest divorce rate in western Europe
