Shanghai Yan'an Senior High School
Shanghai Yan'an Senior High School is a renowned public secondary education institution in the Changning District (长宁区)of Metropolitan Shanghai. The name of the high school is derived from Yan'an Road, where the school was originally located. The school was relocated to Changning District in response to a growing demand for space in the downtown Shanghai area. With a student body of around two thousand, the school uses the provincial skill test to determine eligibility for admission. Major changes at Yan'an have led to an increase in foreign interest in the school, namely the creation of a Foreign Students department into which foreigners can directly apply.
The School is most famous for its mathematics teaching and has produced several students who went on to gain gold medals in the IMO (International Mathematics Olympiad).
