The 2008 congressional elections in Alaska will be held on November 4, 2008 to determine who will represent the state of Alaska in the United States House of Representatives. Alaska has one seat in the House, apportioned according to the 2000 United States Census. Representatives are elected for two-year terms; whoever is elected will serve in the 111th Congress from January 4, 2009 until January 3, 2011. The election coincides with the 2008 U.S. presidential election.

At-Large district

Alaska's at-large congressional district covers the entire state, and has been represented by Republican Don Young since 1973. Former Alaska House of Representatives Minority Leader Ethan Berkowitz and 2006 Democratic Party nominee and 2002 Green Party Gubernatorial Candidate Diane Benson have both declared candidacies for the Democratic Party. Don Young (Incumbent), State Representative Gabrielle Le Doux, and Lt. Governor Sean Parnell have declared candidacies for the Republican Party. Former State Democratic Party Chair Jake Metcalfe dropped out of the race for Democratic Party nominee after allegations that political adviser Bill Scannell had purchased domain names containing Berkowitz's name and redirected them to a mock blog and a San Francisco LGBT Web site[1].
