Crank: High Voltage is the upcoming sequel to the action film, Crank.

Plot Synopsis

Hitman Chev Chelios (Statham) launches himself on an electrifying chase through Los Angeles in pursuit of the Chinese mobster who has stolen his nearly indestructible heart.[1]

Cast

Former child actor Corey Haim will have a cameo appearance in the film and it is stated that he may have a scene where he is completely nude.[2]

The following cast list has been confirmed by Variety and IMDB.[3]

Production

A sequel to Crank, titled Crank 2: High Voltage has been confirmed by the writers and directors Brian Taylor and Mark Neveldine.[4] In Crank 2, Chelios will face a Chinese mobster who has stolen his nearly indestructible heart and replaced it with a battery-powered heart that requires regular jolts of electricity to keep working.[5]

Lionsgate Films will handle North American distribution of the film, while Lakeshore Entertainment will handle international distribution. Filming should start in April 2008. The writers and directors confirmed there will be more sex and violence within an R rating. Like the first film, the production budget will be lower than $20 million. In order to help keep costs low, the filmmakers have taken advantage of low cost prosumer HDV cameras such as the Canon XH-A1, as well as a consumer model, the Canon HF10. [6]

Release date is tentatively for 2009.
