I think there's an error in the first alinea. Stated is a max. power transmission for the line of 160Mw. According to simple calculations, P=U*I so P = 10^5 V * 800 A = 80Mw ? Where did the factor two go ?

It's a bipolar line. The voltage of 100 kV is between a cable and the sea (and -100 kV between the other cable and the sea). In fact the voltage between the two cables is 200 kV. Elagatis 20:26, 6 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]


Question: Why is the power DC? AC has fewer line loses.
