Rainbow Technologies was a leading provider of security solutions for the Internet and e-commerce based in Orange County, California.

Rainbow applied its core technology to a variety of Internet applications from securing software, to the acceleration of secure communications. Rainbow's products included secure Web server and VPN acceleration boards; anti-piracy and Internet software distribution solutions; PKI-based security solutions; voice data and satellite security systems; and USB-based authentication tokens.

The iKey provides powerful two factor authentication for workstation and VPN security. Crypto Swift accelerates secure transactions for Web servers. NetSwift is an OEM product that significantly boosts the performance of VPN solutions. Both Crypto Swift and NetSwift products use Rainbow's FastMAP chip, the world's fastest public-key cryptography integrated circuit that provides cost-effective, high-performance cryptography for Virtual Private Networks (VPNs), financial processing, and other security-oriented hardware products. The iKey authentication token is a smart card alternative, which provides a portable means of protecting a user's online identity. [1]

Rainbow Technologies was acquired by Safenet-Inc in 2003.[2]
