Page Necessity

Is there any reason for why this is an article by itself and not a part of Frisky Dingo? -- Tim D 04:48, 16 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Because every other television show has a page dedicated to all the characters, where their bios get fleshed out. The show just premered not too long ago, give it time. --216.96.119.186 01:41, 17 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Every other television show that has an article on here? What about Metalocalypse or Harvey Birdman, Attorney at Law? Both of these pages have the character listings on the actual article page. Given so few characters at the moment, I think it would be a good idea to put them on the main article, instead of devoting a page to such a small amount of information. -- ModernTenshi04 19:50, 20 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I disagree. Given that this show has presented roughly 5-10 new characters per episode not counting the main cast, if things keep up in this manner this list will quickly get too large for the show's article. I propose letting it stand as it is for at least a couple of weeks, and seeing how things develop. Rob T Firefly 04:56, 22 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, i feel it should stay separate; it's too big, for one, and it could possibly grow. BishopTutu 05:27, 14 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
It really should stay separate. There are so many characters (in relation to the size of the show so far) that it would dominate the main Frisky Dingo page. Some shows, such as as Metalocalypse, have fewer characters, or at least we have less to say about them so another page would not be as necessary for them. --Jfowler27 04:13, 28 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Trent and Brent Entries

Should both of these just be merged into one entry? The information could easily be converted into one entry on both characters since they're twins, and seeing as how they were both killed in the first episode, I doubt any more information will be added, aside from what already exists. -- ModernTenshi04 19:53, 20 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Good point. If the legless bloodied corpses do indeed have some further role in the series, we can change things around then. MGlosenger 20:53, 20 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Regarding any other show that answer would seem weird, but this is a 70/30 show... Rob T Firefly 04:58, 22 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Definitely the same entry. A one-shot character whose been split into two people. JimmmyThePiep 21:01, 25 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Awesome X or Awesome-X / Xtacles or X-ticles

Anyone have any sort of official information on whether Awesome X should have a hyphen or not? adultswim's website doesn't even list Frisky Dingo on their 'Shows' page, and neither the show nor 70/30 Studios seem to have a website. Is there an official Myspace page for the show..? MGlosenger 03:34, 28 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

When Awesome-X is interviewed at the start of episode 2, his name is spelled with the hyphen in the news graphics and scrolling captions. I'd take that as the official spelling. Rob T Firefly 04:37, 28 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Nice. Thanks. MGlosenger 06:02, 28 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Now, if only we knew how to really spell "X-tacles!" Rob T Firefly 14:13, 31 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
My logical guess for the spelling would be as X-ticles since it is a play on the word "testicles" after all. --carpeNoctem 06:27, 6 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Zooming in on the paycheck in episode 5, it's written out to "XTACLE LEROY." Mystery solved! Rob T Firefly 22:26, 19 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
good eye. Well, it was a logical guess that it would be "icle" since it's a play on the word "testicle" and the Adult Swim sources I had seen also had it spelled in that way. Anyway if this is an indication of consistency with spellings, Cap'n Crump is back to being spelled with the C's again after it was spelled with K's in the third episode and I have seen Awesome X appear both with a hyphen and without. It's really frustrating for me because I am the Editor of the show guide on tv.com and I would like the spelling to be accurate. It's one thing to make changes on wikipedia but quite another to have to edit information on tv.com. --carpeNoctem 22:34, 19 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I find it weird that they decided on this spelling when various publications[1][2] about Frisky Dingo and adultswim's official site[3] used the spelling X-ticles. Where did they get their info from? Gdo01 22:37, 19 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I've added Killface and Simon's MySpace links. Copied from my post on the main article's talk page, here's the verifiable evidence that they are official links run by the show, and not just fans doing a bit of roleplaying.

  • Many of the "photos" in Killface's profile could have only come from production art. Most of the images shown are seen briefly in the background on the show decorating Killface's lair, but not that clearly, and the "paintings" especially would be hard for a fan to duplicate so closely.
  • Many of Killface's "top friends" are the show's staff, a couple of whom have Killface in their own "top friends" in return. ("Mack" is Mack Williams, and "Neal" is Neal Holman, both of 70/30.)
  • Killface's signup date to MySpace (viewable on his blog page) was 9/17/06. Simon's was 9/29/06. The show didn't air until 10/16/06, or 10/13(?) on adultswim.com. While Killface was in the teasers and promotional writeups, Simon was not.
  • Killface has left (in-character) comments on Simon's Myspace as early as 10/11/06, five days before the show aired on TV.

There's also the "Killface Speaks" series from adultswim.com. I'm not sure if they'll put up any more official web presences for these characters, but if they do, the links would fit well on this article. Rob T Firefly 14:10, 31 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Voices for Simon & Phil

Where was the information that Christian Danley voices both Simon and Phillip taken from, because IMDB lists Mike Bell as voicing Simon and Christian Danley as Phil. --carpeNoctem 06:32, 6 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I believe you're correct, the sources seem to agree that Mike Bell voices Simon. Rob T Firefly 05:05, 8 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Ronny/"Blow Him"

I'm pretty sure Ronny wasn't the Xtacle who said the "I'm going to blow him" line. It doesn't sound like that Xtacle has Ronny's accent... 68.61.221.145 04:05, 23 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Character Pics

Should pictures be added for all the characters (at least that can be obtained for)? I just noticed that Killface is the only one with his picture in the article. --Jfowler27 22:54, 10 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Awesome X's Super Powers

Awesome X's powers seem to be

-he's rich and has lots of gadgets (like his robot army or fancy-suit).
-the management-thing

Does he also have a spider-sense? (which I will nick-name X-sense) .. At one point he knows before the telephone rings. JimmmyThePiep 21:04, 25 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Phil looks like "Jason Alexander"?

I'd say he looks more like Kyle Gass from Tenacious D. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 66.215.123.245 (talk) 08:37, 26 February 2007 (UTC).[reply]

A Moved Question

whats the name of the manderin-speaking old guy they met in the sweat shop whos currently hanging out with xander?

Old SpiceLots42 04:36, 20 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Jimbo

In the new episode (202), the one that appears to be the lead Xtacle has his name revealed, and I believe it was Jimbo. Should this be put in since Ronnie has a section? I'm pretty sure it was the lead one, and the name was Jimbo at least. Please correct me if I'm wrong 70.232.59.5 22:57, 31 August 2007 (UTC) I think it's unnecessary unless Jimbo becomes a featured character at some point. Ronnie was a fairly large part of the plot in a couple of episodes (similar in value to Old Spice). Schwin47 (talk) 08:49, 13 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Baby-lamont.png

Image:Baby-lamont.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Character Page, NOT Plot Summary

Please keep in mind that this page is a list of characters and information about them. There are a few segments that read similar to plot summaries. While plot information is often necessary, specific instances of conduct (regarding trivial matters, such as Killface asking about Phil's wife) probably shouldn't be listed. I'm gradually chipping away at this, but please keep this in mind as characters are developed. It should read more as a history of the character and set of personal traits with key plot references only. Schwin47 (talk) 08:49, 13 March 2008 (UTC)—Preceding unsigned comment added by Schwin47 (talkcontribs) 08:48, 13 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • This page is in sorely need of cleanup. It's got disinformation, misinformation, gaps of missing information, ranting, redundancy, spoilers, and whatever the opposite of 'chronological order' is. I shall try to clean-up some of it. JimmmyThePiep (talk) 20:23, 23 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Spoilers?

In the future, can we please avoid adding spoilers (especially serious ones, like major characters dying) until the episode actually airs on television? --DrBat (talk) 16:26, 17 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This entire article needs a spoiler warning, actually. Anyone know how to add that? 128.227.125.195 (talk) —Preceding comment was added at 17:24, 18 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Apparently you can enter a spoiler warning with this text: 2bracketsspoiler2brackets. However, when I try to do so, the warning does not appear. Rather, it shows: "template:spoiler." Any ideas? 70.185.104.168 (talk) 10:36, 23 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • A: Wikipedia is not supposed to have spoiler warnings. It's encylopediac knowledge.
  • B: Wikipedia users are not supposed to include data about episodes prior to airdate.
  • C: I made up something similiar to a spoiler warning; I think it's wiki-acceptable, but IDK. Somebody can rewrite it if the writing is badly worded. JimmmyThePiep (talk) 20:59, 23 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Deceased

Looks as if someone has gone through and added Deceased to all of the "dead" characters.

It's an inappropriate addition. When referring to literary art (television is something of an offshoot of literary art), characters always exist in the present tense and are never "dead," because the prior pages keep them alive. This article is intended to inform about the characters, not show where they stand in the current season.

Most importantly, this style is not encyclopedic. 70.185.110.60 (talk)

Grace Improved

Edited and improved Grace Ryan / Antagone. It is now a better read and is no longer redundant. Wanted to put a note up here. It took a few minutes and I'd rather some psycho-Reverter not come along and revert me again simply because I didn't make a note in the Talk section (this just happened a few minutes ago). carter hawkins

what happened to his little entry in here? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.119.185.104 (talk) 06:41, 24 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Table

I added the 3 large tables at the bottom. It makes more sense to have 3 large tables instead of 21 smaller tables. It also takes up less room, thus the article takes up less room without losing any content.

Stuff I done A: I didn't include last names or aliases, because the main article has that already. B: I used the same character order that is already used in the article.

Stuff need done C: I'm missing some data, such as last appearance or voice-actors' names. D: Some characters aren't in the article, so I didn't include them: neck doctor, dead neck doctor, Xander's daughter, Xander's daughter's mom?, Xander's dead parents, Killface's Lady mom, new secretary, Fred Drier, Fred Hunter, pickle-lady from Unemployment, and some others.
