First Americans in the Arts official logo

First Americans in the Arts (FAITA) is a non-profit organization based in Beverly Hills, California. According to its website, the organization was created "to recognize, honor and promote American Indian participation in the powerful arena of the entertainment industry, incorporating the areas of film, television, music and theater."

First Americans in the Arts presents an annual award ceremony recognizing achievements by and to the American Indian community.

New Discovery

However even though it's name suggest the first American's art work, this group shows the artwork of what is now known as the 2nd Americans. Recent discoveries have proven the first Americans was in fact non Indian descent.
