BigWorld is an Australian company formed in 1999. BigWorld develop and license a software Massively Multiplayer Online Game (MMO) engine called the BigWorld Technology Suite, which was commercialised and launched in 2002. This engine provides the underlying software infrastructure needed for game developers to build an MMO. Bigworld received VC funding from Allen and Buckeridge[1], an Australian Venture Capital firm to develop its MMO platform. BigWorld is now one of the leading middleware solutions available for developers of online games. In an independent review of MMO Engines by UK's Develop magazine, BigWorld was acknowledged as the Industry Leader [2]
The BigWorld MMO Technology Suite is a complete technology solution providing the underlying technology platform to create MMO games and Virtual Worlds, consisting of a tightly integrated suite of high performance server applications, tools, advanced 3D client and APIs designed specifically for the fast and efficient creation of MMOGs.
