Jesse Nathaniel Smith (born December 2, 1834, Stockholm, New York; died June 5, 1906, Snowflake, Arizona) was a Mormon pioneer, politician and adventurer.

Jesse was the third of three sons born to Silas Smith (born October 1, 1779, Manchester, Hillsboro, New Hampshire; died September 13, 1839, Pittsfield, Illinois) and Mary Aikens (born August 13 1797; died April 17 1877). His older brothers were Silas Sanford Smith and John Aikens Smith.

Usually known as Jesse N. Smith, Smith served as Mayor of Parowan, Utah in 1859, as a member of the Utah Territorial Legislature in 1856 and 1878-9, and in the Arizona Territorial Legislature's 19th session.

Smith's work for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints included serving as a missionary to Denmark, a Mission President in Denmark, and Stake President. Jesse was a polygamist albeit unwilling at first.
