Taiwan Tech Trek is an eight-week summer internship program created in 2005 by the National Science Council for overseas and domestic Taiwanese youths to gain hands-on internship or research experiences. Each year, the program provides internship positions all across Taiwan at top research institutes, high-tech companies, universities, and the world-famous science parks. Each year, up to 200 youths of Taiwanese ancestry ages 18 to 30 are recruited from various countries through a selective application process. Interns will participate in a weeks of group orientation (usually late-June) and thereafter proceed to their designated internship positions throughout the island for seven weeks of internship. At the conclusion of the program, interns will present the results of their research and findings at an academic conference.
