Robert "Rob" Owen was a fictional character on the long-running Channel 4 British television soap opera Hollyoaks. He was played by David Prosho between 2004-2006.

Originally the character was to be called "Dave Owen" however this was soon changed due to the fact that this was the actors Christian name also.

Character History

Carrie's estranged husband. He recently returned after finding out about Russ's cancer. Originally ostracized from the family because he refused to believe Sam's innocence when he was imprisoned, Rob returned after Russ warned him that he could be at risk from cancer, and after Nicole begged him to stay. Rob's return almost split the family again as Sam refused to accept him at first. He was forced to change his mind after Rob rescued him on a climbing trip when Sam was unable to scale the rock face on his own. When Sam realised that his father did care for him after all, he eventually forgave him.

After Sam confessed that he had been spiking and raping girls, Rob tried to help him run away by buying him a plane ticket. This caused a bit of tension between him and his wife Carrie. After consoling with the family Rob, Carrie, Nicole and Russ forced Sam to turn himself in to the police and was sentenced for 25 years. Six months down the line, Sam escaped from prison and this time the affects were to be horrendous. He burnt down the local pub The Dog which left several people dead (including Sam himself). After Nicole was bullied at school and the Owen family receiving abuse from the minority residents of Hollyoaks, Carrie decided it was the best for her and her family to move away from Hollyoaks. Rob, Carrie and Nicole left the village behind whilst Russ stayed in Hollyoaks, to be with his girlfriend Mercedes Owen.

Rob Eadie is the person that Rob Owen was truly based on. Robs best friend from school Aaron Allen, recently went to the press with the story of how Rob Eadie was followed for 6 months to create the character. Channel 4 denied this and claimed that Rob Owen was a completely fictional character and any relation to a person, living or dead, is purely coincidental. The case was later dropped by Rob and his partner James. Channel 4 lied as this partner James does not even exist, recently Rob Eadie announced he will again begin his case lead by actual partner Aaron Allen. Rob hopes to have Hollyoaks taken off the screens for good! Rob Eadie was recently overheard exclaiming "Ohhh old people, exactly what I want"! This is worrying that somebody like this is allowed to walk the streets of England. Old people beware when Rob Eadie is there, as it is said he has the fabled "touch of a rapist". Rob or his wife never returned to Hollyoaks for Russ and Mercedes wedding.
