Tiie Personal Vision of Recovery Questionnaire. The Personal Vision of Recovery Questionnaire is a 24-item self-report measure of recovery beliefs (Ensfield, 1998; Ensfield, Steffen, & Borkin, 1999). It was developed with mental health consumers and tested with 261 service recipients with self-reported psychiatric diagnoses. Five key factors that reflect the multi-dimensional nature of recovery beliefs were identified: a) Support, b) Personal Challenges, c) Professional Assistance, d) Action and Help-seeking and e) Affirmation. These five factors were identified by the scale developers as being important in the process of recovery. Similar to the RAQ, the 24 items are measured on a five-point scale from Strongly Agree to Strongly Disagree. The measure appears to have adequate psychometric properties (Ensfield, 1998; Ensfield et al., 1999).
