I am actually not that nice :). Seriously, not a problem and thank you. Just curious, how many or what percentage of articles do you think are on this type of "indefinate" protection due to "high traffic vandalism" or for whatever reason?--70.181.45.138 (talk) 16:53, 17 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hmm, not that many. Off the top of my head I can think of Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson, Obama, President Bush, Ronald Reagan (It definitely was at one point). Very often it's hard to tell though, the semi protection symbol in the article's right hand corner doesn't give an expiry date. It's quite hard to figure out if an article is temporary or indefinitely protected without checking the articles log. I think there is a list somewhere of all the indefinitely protected articles. I agree with it usually, once the semi protection on the MJ article was disabled and all hell broke lose on that article. — Realist² 17:05, 17 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you. I agree that there are probably few that need such protection out there and have no problem with it. I was just curious. I used to edit under an account but have to decide not to any more. This is the discussion page for an IP user, identified by the user's IP address. Many IP addresses change periodically, and are often shared by several users. If you are an IP user, you may create an account or log in to avoid future confusion with other IP users. Registering also hides your IP address.
