Your remarks are partly understandable and it is true that some people don't like what you say. But that isn't why they have been deleted. The purpose of the Talk: articles is about how to improve the article. Your statement simply expressed your personal opinion about the concept - but that doesn't improve the article. The foundation stone of Wikipedia is that the personal opinions, likes and dislikes of individual contributors don't matter: the only things that matter are the opinions of reliable sources. (See WP:cite). It doesn't matter if we don't like the fact that people use the term "British Isles" to include Ireland, since that is exactly what they do do, over and over again. So we have to have an article about it and we can certainly quote notable Irish commentators who say why they don't like it. --Red King (talk) 22:56, 21 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
