Not a discussion board

Welcome to Wikipedia! I am glad to see you are interested in discussing a topic. However, as a general rule, talk pages such as Talk:Barack Obama are for discussion related to improving the article, not general discussion about the topic. If you have specific questions about certain topics, consider visiting our reference desk and asking them there instead of on article talk pages. Thank you. --Bobblehead (rants) 06:11, 21 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I was not using this as a discussion board. Testmasterflex (talk) 00:54, 22 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions, including your edits to Talk:Sarah Palin. However, please be aware of Wikipedia's policy that biographical information about living persons must not be libelous. Any controversial statements about a living person added to an article, or any other Wikipedia page, must include proper sources. Thank you. Kelly hi! 03:04, 1 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

On your behalf, I just removed a template you pasted onto the talk page for User:Kelly. Using templates as an equivalent retaliation is not acceptable on Wikipedia. User:Kelly was correct to remove your commentary from the talk page for the Sarah Palin article. What you posted was a clear violation of our policy on discussing and writing about living people. Please continue to make positive contributions to Wikipedia, but understand that WP:BLP violations will be removed.   user:j    (aka justen)   03:41, 1 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

AFD

Hello, just to inform you that comments at AfDs which merely say "Keep per the 5 pillars" are so vague that they'll probably just be ignored. You'd need to say which pillar you're talking about and more important, exactly how that pillar relates to the notability of the article under discussion. Thanks, Black Kite 21:29, 9 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The pillars are very are very important. They include Wikipedia being and encyclopedia, maintaining NPOV, free content, a code of conduct that include consensus, WP:POINT, WP:AGF, and lack of firm rules. This is important to Wikipedia as a project. Please review WP:FP to increase your knowledge of these important guidelines. Thank you for reviewing my contributions and have a nice day!
