Apple Bottoms is a clothing line for women designed by rapper/artist Nelly. It is referred to in various Hip-Hop songs, such as "Overnight Celebrity" by rapper Twista, and more recently the R&B singer Flo Rida in the song "Low" featuring T-Pain. The name of the brand is derived from a slang term for a woman with large, rounded buttocks.
In 2000, when Universal Records released Nelly's platinum debut album, Country Grammar, his clothing line for men, Vokal, had already been in production for two years. In 2002, Cornell "Nelly" Haynes Jr., by then a successful rapper and diversified entrepreneur, founded Apple Bottoms Jeans. A sister company to Vokal, Apple Bottoms claims to base its designs off of Nelly's idea that "the clothes should fit a woman, not the woman fit the clothes." Jeans in the Apple Bottoms collection are designed for accentuating women's shapely figures with signature details like apple-shaped back pockets.
Apple Bottoms is a fashion brand which celebrates the individuality of today’s trend-setting woman. The company was launched in August 2003, by platinum superstar Nelly. Nelly’s vision for the brand was that “a woman should not try to fit the clothes; the clothes should fit the woman!”
The brand, which when launched, was exclusively a denim label, and has since gone through a major line-expansion. Currently the Apple Bottoms label includes: apparel, footwear, handbags, eyewear RX, intimates, sunglasses, accessories, jewelry, cold weather, and girl’s apparel.
Product Development
Apple Bottoms appreciates the unique curves of a woman’s body, and as such, the apparel is designed to offer a superior cut and fit. The Apple Bottoms client is confident, strong, and sexy. She loves her curves, and prefers to enhance them, not conceal them.
Icer Brands, LLC, in collaboration with Nelly, holds the exclusive licensing rights to the product development and marketing of Apple Bottoms. Icer Brands is a privately held market leader, whose offices are prestigiously located in Manhattan, NY.

Nelly
The American Rapper was signed by Universal Studios in 2000. Nelly won his first Grammy award in 2003, and then won a second Grammy in 2004. He was the first solo artist to debut at #1 and #2 on the Billboard Top Album Charts. He has since had 35 million + records sold worldwide.
Aside from being a singer/songwriter, actor, entrepreneur, and designer, Nelly is also a philanthropist. The superstar started two charities. “Jes Us 4 Jackie” was started in response to his sister Jackie Donohue’s battle with Leukemia, in order to educate, and encourage minorities to become bone-marrow donors. Apple Bottoms was launched in 2002 as a fundraiser for the organization.
The second charity is called “4 Sho 4 Kids” and focuses on improving the quality of life for children born with developmental disorders. The organization provides educational classes as well as health-care services.
