Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List is a two-time Emmy Award-winning reality show starring Kathy Griffin and airing on Bravo. The show made its debut in August 2005. Griffin also debuted five comedy specials during the show's run, Straight To Hell, Everybody Can Suck It, Strong Black Woman, Kathy Griffin Is...Not Nicole Kidman, and The D-List. The show follows the struggle of self-proclaimed "D-list" celebrity Kathy Griffin to climb the Hollywood ladder. Her relationship with her parents and husband was also heavily featured. The first season of the show was nominated for a 2006 Emmy Award in the category "Outstanding Reality Program." The show was nominated again on July 19th, 2007, for another Emmy Award in the same category, and won. The show was renewed for a third season that premiered on Tuesday, June 5, 2007 at 10:00PM on Bravo. The third season premiered with the highest ratings for the show with approximately one million viewers. The season finale aired July 24, 2007.
In Australia, the third season has recently finished being screened on cable TV channel, Arena. The first and second seasons are being shown in the UK on the E! channel, premiering June 2007 at 10pm WET. The first two seasons were broadcast on the Toronto-based independent station Sun TV in Canada while the third season was sold to the national cable station The Comedy Network.
The fourth season began airing on 12 June 2008 and was the first expanded season with ten episodes.[1][2]
On July 18, 2008 it was announced that Griffin had been nominated for not one but two Emmy Awards. She was nominated for Outstanding Reality Program, Non-Competition for season three and for Outstanding Variety, Music Or Comedy Special for Kathy Griffin: Straight to Hell. Griffin won 2008 the Emmy Award for the second straight year for Best Reality Program. She lost the other Emmy for Outstanding Special to Don Rickles.

Season 5
On October 10, 2008 Griffin denied having signed on for another season. Griffin is also asking Bravo for a pay raise, and is also in talks with two networks, one including a cable network, to move her show to.
In pop culture
- On the Gay Pimpin' with Jonny McGovern podcast, co-host Linda James renamed her intern Alessandra to "Pom-pom" after Kathy Griffin's dog from the show.
DVD releases
On March 16, 2007, Universal announced that Season 1 of "D-List" would be released onto DVD on June 12, 2007, a week after the premiere of the third season.[3] Special features were announced when menu screenshots came out on April 6, 2007. These include a Season 2 Sneak Peek and the special "Kathy Griffin Is... Not Nicole Kidman."[4]
Origin of the title
On the Ulmer Scale, the A-list refers to the most bankable movie stars; the C-list refers to the least. D-list refers to a celebrity who would be considered obscure enough not to fit on the scale.
