Nekhoroshev, Nikolai Nikolaevich (ru:Нехорошев Николай Николаевич) (2 october 1946 - 19 october 2008, Moscow)

Prominent Russian mathematician, specialist in Hamiltonian mechanics, perturbation theory, classical mechanics, celestial mechanics, integrable systems, dynamical systems, quasiclassic approximation, singularity theory.

He proved, in particular, the theorem about exponential estimations of the time of stability in Hamiltonian systems, close to integrables in KAM-theory (cf. http://www.springerlink.com/content/758572201047p053/

Professor of the Moscow State University and University of Milan.

Alumni of Kolmogorov's school-internat no.18 (1964).
