Prominent Russian mathematician, specialist in Hamiltonian mechanics, perturbation theory, classical mechanics, celestial mechanics, integrable systems, dynamical systems, quasiclassic approximation, singularity theory.

He proved, in particular, the theorem about exponential estimations of the time of stability in Hamiltonian systems, close to integrables in KAM-theory (cf. http://www.springerlink.com/content/758572201047p053/

Professor of the Moscow State University and University of Milan.
