Christian Witness Ministries (CWM) is a non denominational church affiliation founded by the former National General Secretary of the Assemblies of God in Australia Phillip Powell. CWM publishes a quarterly newsletter called Contending Earnestly for The Faith CETF in which numerous authors contribute from many denominations including Dave Hunt, Bill Randles, Peter Stokes, Jacob Prasch, and Aeron Morgan. CWM also run a bookshop and hold a yearly bible conference with the same authors. CWM are mostly a watchdog discernment ministry.

History

CWM was started when founder Philip Powell found that the Australian AOG church was preaching false doctrines and supporting false prophets and teachers. After his departure from the AOG, Powell became associated with many others who have come to similar conclusions about certain doctrines, teachings, prophets and teachers, in the church, thus forming the Christian Witness Ministries. CWM has made a stand against Frank Houston, father of Hillsongs Brian Houston, who was a child sex offender [1][2] CWM is also a major critic of Hillsong.[3] CWM is mentioned in Tanya Levin's controversial book about Hillsong People in Glass Houses.[4] CWM has made stands against the Toronto Blessing and the Pensacola outpouring also known as the laughing spirit.

Recently Powell's former church Paradise Community Church has made headlines with other church scandles invoving Michael Guglielmucci's false claims of cancer, healing, and use of pornography. [5]
