Madeline Elizabeth Duggan (born 28 June 1994 in London in England) is a young British actress who comes from South London. She is best known for her current portrayal of Lauren Branning in popular BBC soap opera EastEnders. She has now been playing Lauren in EastEnders since the 3rd July 2006
Personal life
According to the Eastender's Offical Website: Maddie's favourite colour is blue, she is a big fan of "Disco Diva Jocelyn Brown" and she loves "RnB" and Hip Hope" style music and she is a supporter of Millwall FC and often joins her dad on the terraces.
She also has said she has an older brother called Jack Anthony who she has prevousily acted with. (born January 1990.)
Career
In 2003, she played the part of Little Cossette in the hit stage show Les Misérables at the Palace Theatre, London. She has also played the lead roles in two short films. She played Amanda in Between Us and played Ellie in Spoilt Eggs in 2004 and 2005, respectively.
It was announced in May 2006 that she would be playing Lauren Branning in the BBC soap opera EastEnders, and she made her first appearance in July 2006.
She has admitted to being more of a Lucy Beale character in real life, and has a great time on set however she wouldn't like to stay on EastEnders forever, she would like to do movies as they would only take a few months then you don't have to do any more.[citation needed] Madeline is also to appear on Children In Need in November 2008 along with the rest of the EastEnders cast who are all performing Mary Poppins.
