Egerton Park Arts College is a comprehensive school for boys and girl between the ages of 11-16. It is on Egerton Street, Denton, Tameside, Greater Manchester, M34 3PB.

History

It used to be called Egerton Park Community High School, and previous to that Egerton Park Secondary School. It has been awarded specialist Arts College status.

Proposed Merger

In 2010 Egerton Park is set to merge with fellow Denton high school Two Trees Sports College, on the Egerton Park campus, creating a City Academy style high school. The name of the new school will be Denton Community College.

Academic performance

Like all except two schools in Tameside LEA, it has no sixth form. At GCSE it gets results under the England average, although a few per cent under the Tameside average.

  • Thomas Clarke (born c. 1972), a former Head of Science who was jailed for life in December 2002 for murdering a 71 year old pensioner and leaving a teenager disabled.
