Laura Prepon (born March 7, 1980) is an American actress, best known for her role as Donna Pinciotti on the 1998-2006 television series That '70s Show.

Biography

Early life

Prepon was born and raised in Watchung, New Jersey, the youngest of four children in a family of Russian Jewish and Irish Catholic extraction.

Career

Prepon's first acting job was a 1995 television commercial for MCI. In 1996 she studied drama with acting teacher Caroline Thomas at Thomas' Total Theatre Lab.[1] In September 1997, she premiered on a Levi Strauss-developed show called They Go On, an Internet-based soap opera.[2] Prepon also worked[when?] as a model in Paris, Milan, and Brazil.[3]

Prepon had a starring role as Donna Pinciotti on the Fox television series That '70s Show, from 1998 to 2006. In 2004 Prepon was on the cover of Maxim.

Prepon was an executive producer of E! Hollywood Hold'em[4] and of Robert Hall's debut film Lightning Bug.

In addition, Prepon has also done some voice work as a UNSC marine on the Xbox game, Halo 2.

The 2006 movie Karla starring Prepon caused a substantial stir in Canada. The movie is based on the true story of Canadian serial killers Karla Homolka and Paul Bernardo.

Prepon was a cast member of the ABC show October Road, which debuted March 15, 2007. The show was cancelled by ABC on May 12, 2008, despite a grassroots campaign from the show's fanbase to keep the show alive.

In April 2007, she starred in a short film, Once Upon A Time. She also appeared in the Oxygen movie, Romancing the Bride.

Personal life

Laura began dating Christopher Masterson (younger brother of former That '70s Show co-star Danny Masterson) in 2000 and they moved in together in 2001. The pair split in late 2007. Laura converted to Scientology after meeting Danny and Christopher Masterson.[5] She doesn't talk openly about her religion, but she has been seen at Scientology related events after the break up with Masterson.[6] [7]

Prepon recently bought a new $2.32 million home in the Los Feliz section of Los Angeles County, CA. [8]
